Jean Riley

Since 2018, we have been passionately redefining the very essence of fashion through our commitment to sustainable manufacturing and thoughtful design. Our journey was inspired by the effervescent spirit of our muse, the extraordinary Ms. Gloria Jean Riley (1943 - 2020), whose boundless optimism never wavered. A remarkable mother and an even more cherished grandmother, her unwavering zest for life remained undiminished, even when she faced the challenges of dementia in 2015.

The memory of her infectious joy continues to inspire us, and we are determined to honour her legacy by infusing every creation with the same magic that she brought into our lives. With each exquisite piece you collect from us, know that a significant portion of our profits will be dedicated to advancing the study of this relentless disease. Together, we can spread not just the beauty of our artisanal jewellery but also the hope of finding a cure for dementia, allowing Ms. Gloria Jean Riley's spirit to live on in the joy and happiness she brings to people through our brand.

Narjia Brownlie

Narjia Brownlie is an emerging Australian artist that captures the romanticism of human connection. Brownlie has long possessed an interest and love for painting, however only recently decided to pursue a career as an artist in 2018. Her work is inspired by the feminine condition and the intricacies of the female experience, particularly the complex ways women connect, associate and dissociate with one another.

Brownlie’s paintings celebrate female connection through the central idea of sisterhood. Unencumbered by societal pressures or expectations, the artist depicts abstract female figures coming together in dance and delight, where bodies move and exist together freely. From growing up to university, Brownlie has always been inspired by the ways women communicate and bemused by the underlying rivalry that often permeates female relationships; where hostility and control triumphs over empathy and kindness. She is both intrigued and unsettled by the ways young women pull themselves apart only to compare their strengths and weaknesses to the other women around them.

CLEMENTINE LEON

When two sisters came together, they both brought with them a desire for high quality and carefully crafted jewellery. Their perfectionistic pursuits and precise attention to detail, was merged with their love of unrefined stones and the Clementine Leon range was born.

The pieces seek to capture the contrasting yet complimenting nature of sisterhood, by putting natural semi precious stones up against sharp geometric shapes. The artisan earrings are designed locally and each handmade piece is distinct from the other, as they remain faithful to being one-of-a-kind.

KERRIN

Kerrin is an Australian menswear label, exploring and celebrating travel, the outdoors and contemporary Australian culture.

“The Kerrin pop-up at 408 Smith Street was a hit. The grey-washed plywood walls and the aluminium-topped cabinetry proved a harmonious backdrop to the premium menswear on display. It was easy to set the tone for a good old-fashioned trunk show where people felt comfortable to wander in, check out the range, enjoy a coffee and get to know the team behind the label. The people and the setting at 408 Smith complemented the friendly and laid-back vibe that Kerrin.co embodies.”

Loom Towels

LOOM TOWELS

”Collections are created as limited edition designs of between 75 - 150 pieces. Each towel is something to be cherished as designs do not get remade. Our vision is to consistently create new, exclusive items and to keep exploring new ways to bring artisan crafts into more homes. Mikala James, the founding director of Loom Towels designs every collection, blending inspiration from the traditional craft with a modern vibe and her own sense of style.

Mikala founded Loom Towels in 2011 after a chance encounter during a venturesome holiday in Turkey. Her innate love of textiles, strong values in sustainability and craftsmanship (and a bit of luck) all led her to creating Loom Towels.”
